Job Overview

As an industry leader of premium windows and doors, motion plays a key role in how we convey the many possibilities Marvin unlocks for a variety of audiences, including architects, builders, and homeowners, as well as internal audiences. A Videographer + Editor within the Marvin Creative Studio, our internal agency, is responsible for helping to concept, capture, and shape compelling stories about these possibilities through short- and long-form pieces. This role requires someone who has a remarkable curiosity for finding unique conceptual and literal angles, an ability to troubleshoot technical challenges as they arise, and a desire to co-create content with fellow team members. Behind the camera you have a way of putting the people in front of it at ease. Plus, you have a keen editing sense, crafting narratives that inspire both internal and external audiences. Highlights of your role

Planning and Strategy (10%)

  • Think creatively and strategically to tell stories that enhance Marvin’s premium position in the marketplace; act as a brand advocate, ensuring that all marketing materials reflect Marvin brand character and meet established brand standards

Project Leadership (40%)

  • Participate in the implementation and execution of video projects, fostering collaboration and partnership throughout the process with partners such as marketing, sales, internal communications, human resources, and product planning teams as well as external agency partners/vendors
  • Be a versatile production specialist with the ability to operate as a one-person crew or contribute in a large crew both in-studio or on-location
  • Employ excellent communication skills to efficiently expedite work including initiating and facilitating discussions; communicating proactively and with a desire to collaborate and find efficient solutions
  • Responsible for lighting and shooting a diverse range of high-quality content
  • Proactively solicit feedback on projects, evaluate success, and work to optimize current work and evolve future projects

Editing, Animating and Gear Maintenance (50%)

  • Create various edits from a shoot (often multiple edits from a shoot), including long-form case studies (4 – 5 min pieces), cutdowns for owned channels and paid placements, thought-leadership pieces to share on internal communications channels
  • Collaborate with art directors and designers to concept and animate motion graphics for select pieces
  • Assist with management and maintenance for all video equipment, including lenses, lighting, drone and associated equipment, file storage and more
  • Manage digital assets through an organized file storage system, applying consistent naming convention
  • Color correct footage to the established brand standards

  • Strong creative thinker with the ability to translate creative vision and business objectives into final deliverables
  • Solution-oriented and innovative thinking abilities
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand technical product information as well as translate and effectively communicate technical information
  • Conduct business with a high level of ethical standards, integrity, and business acumen
  • Serve as a strategic partner with internal and external customers in a timely, professional manner regardless of deliverable (small-scale, quick hit project vs. high production deliverables)
  • Fluid, confident verbal and written communication skills with an ability to convey strong, clear, concise messages to target audiences
  • A talent for getting things done; excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Demonstrates flexibility in approach, especially when problem-solving
  • Curious about—and an ability to adapt to—ever-changing video techniques and technologies
  • Ability to travel, including some overnights (approximately 20-30% travel)
  • Captioning for video

Also want to make sure you have

  • Bachelor’s degree or affiliated work experience in videography
  • 5+ years of experience working in the field and in the studio
  • Expansive portfolio showcasing compelling production and post-production abilities
  • Experienced understanding of lighting best practices
  • Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, and the rest of the Adobe Creative Suite, Apple OS and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Extensive knowledge of professional camera systems and settings
  • Ability to color correct and grade footage  
  • Professional understanding of the post-production workflow
  • Ability to record and mix high quality audio for video
  • Drone experience, FAA licensed operator preferred
