Job Overview

The Master Scheduler – Wood Processing supports internal manufacturing operations by developing and maintaining production schedules for wood processing equipment. This role is responsible for scheduling and coordinating machine operations to ensure timely delivery of material to window and door manufacturing while balancing capacity, labor, and inventory objectives.

Highlights of your role

Production Scheduling & Execution

  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules for wood processing operations.
  • Schedule and sequence machining centers
  • Ensure schedules are aligned with material availability, labor capacity, yield expectations, and maintenance requirements.
  • Monitor execution performance and adjust schedules to address equipment issues, material shortages, or priority changes.

Coordination & Communication

  • Serve as the primary scheduling contact for Operations, Procurement, and downstream manufacturing partners.
  • Communicate schedule priorities, changes, and risks clearly to stakeholders.
  • Support production teams by providing visibility to upcoming requirements and constraints.

 

Capacity, Metrics, & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify capacity constraints and escalate issues with recommended mitigation options.
  • Track performance metrics including schedule adherence, throughput, and service levels.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on flow, efficiency, and schedule reliability.

 

Systems & Data Management

  • Maintain accurate schedules, routings, and lead times within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Ensure master data aligns with actual operational practices and constraints.

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field and/or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in production scheduling or manufacturing planning preferred
  • Experience in wood processing or similar manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Strong computer proficiency including ERP/MRP systems and Excel.
  • Ability to analyze data, prioritize work, and communicate effectively in a team-based environment.

$75,400 - $100,600 annually
