Job Overview

Are you a student looking to grow your woodworking skills in a real‑world manufacturing environment? Marvin is seeking a Custom Window Builder Woodworking Intern to join our team for a hands‑on summer internship experience. This internship supports students pursuing a degree in carpentry, cabinetry, or woodworking who want to learn from skilled craftsmen while contributing to custom, one‑of‑a‑kind products.

As an intern, you’ll support the custom window‑building process from start to finish, working both independently and alongside experienced teammates. Windows produced in this department are unique in size and shape and are proudly installed in premier homes, architect‑designed spaces, and historic buildings.

This internship takes place in a clean, brightly lit, temperature‑controlled facility in Warroad, Minnesota and provides a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in custom woodworking and manufacturing.

Housing Provided
To support students relocating for the summer, company‑provided housing is available for the duration of the internship, allowing interns to focus on learning, growing their skills, and gaining hands‑on experience without the burden of securing short‑term housing.

Highlights of your role

  • Assist in crafting custom windows from start to finish using a mix of automated technology and traditional woodworking tools
  • Learn to support creative solutions for building unique, made‑to‑order windows and doors
  • Help care for equipment in the Made‑To‑Order department, including assisting with jigs and fixtures used in the build process
  • Collaborate with skilled builders, engineers, and cross‑functional teams such as Research & Development, Special Projects, and Architectural
  • Practice safe work habits and maintain good housekeeping standards at all times

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

  • Currently enrolled in or pursuing a degree in carpentry, cabinetry, woodworking, or a related field
  • A high school diploma or GED (required)
  • An interest in custom woodworking and hands‑on craftsmanship
  • Attention to detail and a desire to learn quality‑driven processes

Also want to make sure you have

  • Basic ability (or willingness to learn) to read work orders, drawings, or schematics
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a positive attitude in a hands‑on learning environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
