Job Overview

The Marvin Home Center (MHC), located in Warroad, MN, is seeking a Retail Assistant Manager with outstanding customer service experience, demonstrated leadership ability, and excellent business management capabilities. This role is responsible to lead a team of sales and stock associates in providing an excellent shopping experience for all customers.

Highlights of your role

  • Provide excellent leadership and performance management to ensure sales and stock associates perform successfully.
  • Coach,motivate and train sales and stock associates on such items as product knowledge, salesmanship and customer service.
  • May be responsible for store opening and closing procedures.
  • You are accountable for accurate inventory and pricing.
  • Assist customers with product sales and service.
  • Work with Retail Manager on product selection, merchandising and efficient buying, while establishing proper inventory levels for seasonal and staple products.
  • Address customer service issues, supplier issues and negotiations.

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

  • 3-5 years of retail experience; management experience helpful
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Good attitude and able to motivate others
  • Good working knowledge of the products that are typically carried at the Home Center
  • Good merchandising skills
