Job Overview

Role is responsible for supporting the Fargo R&D department by participating in electronic design activities, building/testing prototypes, preparing tests, and performing Engineering analysis to ensure designs meet requirements. Also provides drafting/modeling and document management support, participates in prototype builds, installation and setup testing, production support, and other tests to ensure durability.  

Highlights of your role

  • Design and problem-solving activities: Work with engineers and designers to troubleshoot electronic circuits and systems and help design a solution to resolve identified issues.
  • Automation: Develop automated testing setups and job aids.
  • Documentation: Capability to create technical summary reports and test documentation.
  • Circuit Board Design: A basic understanding of circuit board and firmware design. 
  • Product Knowledge: Become intimately familiar with our current electronic products and they are implemented into our fenestration products.
  • Other functions: Product installation and setup testing, production support, soldering of small electronics with high quality a plus, Ability to read and comprehend engineering systems requirements documents

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

  • Must be enrolled in an Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering degree program pursuing a bachelor’s degree
  • Working knowledge of 2D and 3D Modeling software (Inventor preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) preferred
  • Must be able to be a positive member of a team environment, an individual who possesses self-motivation skills and is dependable and trustworthy
  • Must be able to problem-solve and communicate effectively
  • Must possess proficient organizational, interpersonal, and multi-tasking abilities and be able to work with power tools and computer equipment
