Job Overview

The Manager, Learning Experience (Sales Training), will assist in driving nationwide sales enablement through the training and education of the Marvin channel and architectural sales team. The role will work with the Director of Learning and the Sales Leadership Team to implement the sales training strategy, ensure new members of the sales team receive an exceptional onboarding experience and develop programs to support the current sales team at Marvin. This role will lead a team of regional Sales Training Coaches that will guide the sales onboarding and ongoing development of the sales team in their region. This role requires knowledge and skill in adult learning strategies, sales, program development, and learning facilitation.

Highlights of your role

  • Lead the new hire training and onboarding process for Marvin field sales team, including developing consistent knowledge standards for each level and role. Work with regional managers to execute new hire education and training for all new hires.
  • Ensure that the national Marvin sales team has the skills needed to be successful in their positions. This includes product and systems knowledge, strategic business planning with customers, professional skills, and business acumen.
  • Develop evaluation methods to understand current field sales knowledge and skills. Identify internal learning opportunities and deliver needed education and training to internal Marvin sales employees.
  • Partner with the Sales Leadership Team and functional department SMEs to create curriculum and rotation framework.
  • Provides leadership and mentoring to direct reports. Sets expectations and effectively manages team contribution, performance, and engagement within the team and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop a group of Sales Training Coaches who have deep knowledge of the full array and value of training solutions offered by the Learning Experience team and how each training solution connects to the potential needs of the sales team.
  • Assist with ongoing training including new product launches, competitive overviews, system updates and other needs throughout the year.
  • Partners with peers on the training team to create content to support programming.
  • Provide regular communication and reporting on sales training programs to the Sales Leadership Team.
  • Oversee learning projects to ensure completion of deliverables on schedule and within budget.
  • Execute with strong project management skills, monitoring work-plans and managing against milestones, knowing what to prioritize and why, knowing who to keep informed and when to escalate.

Compensation

$120,000 - $130,000 annually, with bonus eligibility!

  • Superior relationship management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and partner well with others to build strong and trusting relationships.
  • Proven ability to communicate ideas and insights in person, virtually, and in writing, succinctly and with impact, understanding what is relevant vs. what is “noise” to the audience.
  • Knowledge and skill in adult learning strategies.
  • Strong initiative and solid judgment abilities/skills; must display a balanced, objective approach and sound judgment when recommending a course of action.
  • Nimble, resilient, and adaptable to the ever-changing environment and offer creative solutions based on experience and industry trends.
  • Ability to work independently and with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to provide an independent point of view on people and issues while having the courage and sensitivity to deliver tough messages to leaders and employees.
  • Demonstrated effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong influencing skills when recommending and implementing solutions with business partners.
  • Project management skills and ability to juggle and prioritize multiple responsibilities.

Also want to make sure you have

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years of experience in learning and development
  • 5+ years of experience as a people leader
  • 5+ years of experience in learning facilitation
  • Ability to travel nationwide 50% or more of workdays, which will require overnight stays
  • Experience with Outside Sales (preferred)
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms
