Job Overview

Work closely with other Marvin Composites Environmental, Health and Safety team members to champion programs and procedures with passion; leading by example and always emphasizing that safety is a core value at Marvin CompositesThis role will encourage all associates to adopt a behavior-based approach to safety/health and a proactive and responsible attitude toward environmental excellence.   

Highlights of your role


Key Responsibilities:  

  • Thorough understanding of local, state, federal safety requirements including OSHA, fire department and FM global. Coordinates with these agencies as needed to ensure compliance.  
  • Ensures that all required EHS inspections/audits are conducted and documented as required 
  • All reports are filed properly, in a timely manner with good communication to regulatory agencies 
  • Ensures identified risks are properly addressed (from incidents, concerns, audits, etc…) 
  • Ensures that all safety training is properly conducted 
    •  Conducts new hire orientation training 
    • Keeps the safety training matrix up to date and coordinates with the Training team 
  • Work closely with all associates to provide mentoring and coaching and identify opportunities for improvement 
    • Associates in the plant and safety committees 
    • Associates at other locations (Roanoke, Integrity, Warroad etc…) 
    • Local Management and leadership 
  • Coordinates and manages workers compensation claims  
    • Maintains files and databases containing EHS records 
  • Use project management tools and executive summary to manage work and report on progress 
    • Accountable for progress on projects, making deadlines and meeting objectives 
  • General safety duties 
  • Responsible for the selection and preparation of materials for weekly safety short  
  • First aid kits/safety supplies  
  • Administrate MAR process 
  • Incident reports – follow-up 
  • Updates safety program and policies  

 

  • Other duties: 
  • Primary coordinator in handling emergency situations and empowered to allocate emergency resources 
  • Cross trained on environmental tasks 
  • Authority to approve purchase requisitions up to $500 (non-emergency)  
  • Handles hazardous waste in accordance with established procedures and attends annually administered hazardous waste management/handling training  

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in related field preferred 
  • Continued education and training in field; 4 year degree preferred 
  • Management, leadership training
