Job Overview

You'll focus on team and individual development, fostering strong safety culture throughout the organization. You'll also ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Highlights of your role

  • Lead and mentor local Safety teams, championing continuous improvement and professional development within the safety function.
  • Design a proactive safety strategy which addresses project and goal setting, budget, engagement, culture, and risk reduction of employees at all levels across all sites.
  • Champion the establishment of effective investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions designed to improve Safety and drive to a culture predicated on injury prevention Participates in pilot programs for enterprise safety initiatives
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Plant leadership, partnering on the development and execution of safety strategies and tactical initiatives that drive measurable improvements.
  • Monitor, analyze and report Safety and Health data for trends and areas of concern
  • Act as primary lead on obtaining or maintaining OSHA VPP Star compliance

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

  • Strong understanding of organizations such as OSHA standards, Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), NIOSH, NRC, ASSP NFPA, the National Safety Council
  • Current safety certifications, education, and designations or willingness to acquire these
  • Understanding of property insurance requirements, Worker’s Compensation and Return to Work process
  • Ability to travel (<20% per year)
  • Ability to frequently stand and walk around manufacturing facilities

Also want to make sure you have

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in safety-related role(s) with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Management of multi-location Safety & Health Program in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Environmental experience a plus
  • OSHA VPP experience preferred
