The Safety Project Manager is a key leadership role responsible for driving the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of safety-related programs and initiatives across the organization. This role blends deep knowledge of safety principles with strong project management expertise to ensure that safety programs are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals.
Reporting to the Director of Safety, the Safety Project Manager will collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, HR, and enterprise safety teams to implement scalable, sustainable safety solutions.
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of safety program introduction, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, risk registers, and communication strategies.
- Track progress against milestones and proactively manage risks, issues, and changes.
- Partner with site safety teams, operations leaders, and enterprise stakeholders to align program objectives with business needs.
- Facilitate regular program reviews and stakeholder updates to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Coordinate with external vendors or consultants as needed for program delivery.
- Use safety data and analytics to identify trends, prioritize initiatives, and measure program effectiveness.
- Develop dashboards and reports to communicate progress and outcomes to leadership.
- Identify opportunities to streamline safety processes and enhance program efficiency.
- Apply lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to safety initiatives.
- Ensure programs align with internal safety standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA), and industry best practices.
- Support audits, inspections, and corrective action planning as needed.
- 5+ years of experience in safety, operations, or project/program management.
- project management training preferred.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and data visualization platforms
