This role provides support with and planning for community engagement opportunities through vendor coordination, people organizing, and hands-on involvement in community-wide events. This is a community-builder role in event coordination, which needs strong administrative and detail management. This a year-round internship including weekend and evening work as needed, especially during event weeks. 

(40 hrs/wk April-August; 15 hrs/wk August-April)

• Support Community Relations team in contacting non-profits, students, adults and greater community to increase involvement in events.
• Serve as community representative on projects, community-based awards or events in our community.
• Assist and support the Community Relations team with internal and external activities.
• Provide event project coordination from pre-planning to completion. Schedule event planning team meetings, recaps and post-event wrap-ups.

• Currently enrolled in degree program, preferably in Communication, Public Relations, Business, Marketing, or related field.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills required
• Ability to maintain strong professionalism is key; demonstrated, successful decision-making ability required

• Self-driven, curious, insightful, adaptable and results oriented.
• Displays strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• A team player and collaborator.
• A bit of a risk taker to try new things, learn, and refine as appropriate.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
