Job Overview

Are you a hands-on, empathetic leader who values “Doing the Right Thing”? If so, we can't wait to meet you! Marvin is looking for a Human Resources (HR) Manager to join our team. This role partners with HR and Operational Leadership to plan, attract, and retain talent, handles employee relations, and manages compensation. This individual is responsible for leading and directing a team administering HR programs and policies for the company in an efficient and legally sound manner that supports our One Marvin goals, direction, and our core values. 

Highlights of your role

  • Leadership and Team Development: Lead and mentor to the HR team, developing team members and maintaining cohesion and consistency. Set high standards for the team in approach, customer service, responsiveness, acting proactively, and communicating thoroughly/effectively. 
  • Program Evaluation and Improvement: Assess the effectiveness of employee programs, using metrics, data and/or feedback, and recommending, implementing, and sustaining changes when necessary. Conduct research and analysis to uncover culture and employee trends, identifying continuous improvement opportunities. 

  • Strategy Planning and Execution: Plan, implement, and assess and projects using effective relationships to deliver projects on time and within budget. Support Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partner teams in recruitment and retention efforts 

  • Partnering with Legal: Provide counsel to HR Business Partners on appropriate employee relation resolutions, collaborating with Legal when appropriate. Maintain knowledge of legal requirements affecting the Human Resources department ensuring policies and programs are in compliance. 

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

  • Professional certification is strongly preferred (i.e. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) 

Also want to make sure you have

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business Administration, Management or similar, plus 5+ years of experience in an HR leadership role, or equivalent experience, is required. 
  • Must possess an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and have experience with various common HR systems. 
  • Proven organizational ability, with effective follow-up, and follow-through required. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
