Job Overview

A Materials Agent manages material and supply chain needs for the company.  The Materials Agent is responsible to obtain the appropriate quantity of goods in a professional, reliable, and responsive manner at the negotiated price while meeting quality, schedule and performance requirements specified by the Marvin Company. The Materials Agent is responsible for managing and maintaining supplier relationships. In addition, this role will be responsible for analyzing materials costs, stocking levels, spend based on volume, and product mix. The Materials Agent will also be involved in project management and facilitating production part approval.

• Manage the Supply Chain to ensure a continuous flow of quality materials in a cost-effective manner. This includes prompt resolution of any quality, delivery, and supplier relationship issues at the root-cause level to ensure materials maintain a ship-to-use status. Manage the performance of each supplier. Anticipate supply chain risks and develop contingencies as needed.
• Maintain strong, mutually beneficial supplier relationships on quality, pricing, delivery and all other terms of business, ensuring partnerships meet the short- and long-term goals of both Marvin companies and its suppliers.
• Participate in negotiating with suppliers on price, delivery, and all other terms of business, in a manner that meets the needs of Marvin and its supply chain.
• Work with Product Development to ensure materials meet the company's needs for new and improved products, including sourcing, development, qualification, and transition to production approved status.
• Manage the cost of assigned materials through active cost reduction, reduction of supplier induced COPQ, price negotiation, bulk purchasing/contracting, and supply benchmarking.
• Manage material ramp-up and run-down strategies, including part number establishment/transition and appropriate stocking levels. Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities and manage process improvement projects to obtain company goals.
• Collaborate with colleagues at other Marvin Companies to maximize supply chain efficiencies and knowledge across the brands.

Also want to make sure you have

-High School Diploma required.
-Bachelor or Associate degree in a related field is preferred.
-At least five years purchasing experience required.
-Microsoft Office Suite experience required, specifically Excel.
-Understanding of material quality requirements, processes and procedures strongly preferred.                                                                                            -Ability to maintain confidentiality and work well under pressure.
