As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the financial management of the organization by overseeing and optimizing cost-related processes. Your responsibilities will include bill of material audits, managing inventory, analyzing financial data, preparing budget reports, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in cost accounting in a manufacturing setting, financial analysis, and a deep understanding of business operations.

Highlights of your role

  • Conduct thorough cost analysis on various aspects of the business, including production costs, overhead expenses, and inventory valuation.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies for cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and monitor annual budgets.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and variance analysis to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the valuation and control of inventory, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
  • Implement strategies to optimize inventory levels and reduce carrying costs.
  • Work closely with operations, supply chain, and other relevant departments to gather data and insights for accurate cost analysis.
  • Support the month end and year end close process by performing account reconciliations and preparing journal entries.
  • Monitor financial trends and key performance indicators to identify opportunities.

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Cost Accountant with at least 5-7 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to provide valuable insights for decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with accounting and ERP systems and Power BI.
  • Proficient in Excel (Intermediate to Advanced User required).
  • Self-motivated; work with limited supervision.
