Job Overview

As Product Portfolio Strategist – Connected Home, you will be a leader within Marvin to define the strategy and execution for all aspects of launching successful connected/smart products . This role will be critical in helping Marvin deliver on its promise to bring happy healthy living to its customers. This role will have accountability to gather and analyze insights (VOC/channel dynamics/technology) to deliver a detailed product strategy that includes proposed projects/solutions and a solid business case.

Highlights of your role

  • Own and maintain an on-going “fact base” that includes VOC and insights from customers, channel partners, internal and external experts, marketing trends, and competitive company and product analysis.
  • Analyze and translate the insights into an on-going strategy for the portfolio, and use the strategy to create a detailed 3-5 year roadmap of the solution. Continuously prioritize the roadmap and communicate it to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Engage with customers, prospects, and the market to gather program KPI’s, requirements, and use cases.
  • Maintain an on-going market and competitive landscape research to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Responsible for the end-to-end product life-cycle, including high level and low level requirements, specifications, mockups and designs, documentation and releases.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to the UX/UI process.
  • Capture and analyze usage KPIs and metrics to assess the success of the solution. Engage with users for feedback and follow-up requirements.
  • Identify and engage with 3rd party partners in the smart home industry. Test and validate the partner solution. Negotiate and agree on partnership terms.
  • Partner with others in product management and engineering to align strategic goals and priorities
  • Participates/Leads updates to the senior leadership team
  • Partners with sales and channel partners to help support and launch new products.
  • Be a thought partner for connected home leadership  and help craft the new processes for the digital team within Marvin.
  • Immerse yourself in the market by traveling to be in-person with customers and channel partners.

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in product management
  • 3+ years of experience managing digital and/or electro-mechanical products
  • 3+ years of experience working with channel partners (dealers/architects/smart home integrators)
  • Agile mindset / Agile product development experience
  • Demonstrated success working with, and indirectly leading hardware and firmware teams to plan, develop, refine, and launch successful products
  • Demonstrated success collecting customer/channel insights and translating then into a robust long range plan (roadmap).
  • Ability to properly balance desirability, feasibility, and profitability within the solution and proposed projects.
  • Collaborative self-starter
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel to 20% - 30%.

  • Familiarity with Confluence, JIRA, Miro, Figma
  • Experience working within a greenfield software development environment
  • Experience collaborating with remote teams
  • Work with physical products (lift)
  • Ability to climb a ladder.
