Job Overview

Ready to lead enterprise-wide sourcing strategies that support manufacturing operations? Marvin is hiring a Purchasing Manager to oversee indirect procurement and sourcing activities across the enterprise. In this role, you’ll develop and execute sourcing strategies, manage strategic supplier relationships, negotiate contracts and pricing, and help ensure cost, quality, and supply continuity across Marvin manufacturing locations. You’ll also provide leadership to a team of indirect purchasing professionals while driving alignment with enterprise objectives. 

You’ll excel if you bring a strong blend of strategic sourcing expertise, supplier relationship management, and people leadership experience. Success in this role comes from balancing long-term planning with operational execution, fostering cross-functional partnerships, and advancing continuous improvement across procurement processes. This position requires the ability to travel up to 30% of the time.  

Highlights of your role

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for key indirect supply chain commodities. 
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships and performance while driving continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Lead negotiations for pricing, contracts, and service agreements. 
  • Maintain and optimize the approved supplier panel while ensuring contract compliance. 
  • Partner with operations teams to support supply continuity and align local purchasing groups around common sourcing strategies. 
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of indirect purchasing agents and principals, including goal setting, performance management, workload prioritization, and team alignment. 

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to establish direction, build trust, and create accountability across teams and functions. 
  • Lead strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management activities. 
  • Balance strategic thinking with day-to-day operational execution in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Communicate effectively through written, verbal, and facilitation skills, including presenting risks, trade-offs, and recommendations. 
  • Travel up to 30% as business needs require. 

Also want to make sure you have

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred. 
  • 7-10 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing-related functions. 
  • Experience working with scheduling systems, dashboards, production data, capacity planning tools, and KPI reporting. 
  • Experience leading cross-functional planning routines, S&OE/S&OP discussions, or similar operational cadence processes. 
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing flow, labor planning, dispatching, customer demand, and production schedule execution. 
  • Strong organizational, project management, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills.
